sunken eyes part I

sunken eyes
you never sleep
only the pitter patter of footsteps
on stilts
watching television
through a microscopic lens
sinking ships
you never weep
rather you sail on an ocean of tears
on a "wave of mutilation"
far beyond the reaches
of space and time
and your mother she once cried for you
when you gathered up your belongings
and headed for the coast
but now you stand
sunken eyes
like a shipwreck
at the bottom of an ocean of noise
gathering dust
instead of possessions
i envy your persuasion.
i envy your complete
and full
denial
for
t r a d i t i o n
